Medication for Mono
There are a few instances when strep throat can occur simultaneously with mono. In such instances the illness is best treated with penicillin or erythromycin( E-mycin, PCE, Ery Tab, Pediazole and Ilosone. However, it is better to avoid ampicillin and amoxicillin as it has been found that more than 90% of the people having mono develop a rash after taking this drug.
